Teacher/Clinician Training Institute
The Teacher and Clinician Training Institute shares proven strategies and best practices with educators and clinicians through immersive classroom training, in-person workshops, and ongoing professional development. By equipping professionals with both practical tools and research-based insights, NCHI ensures that inclusive education is not limited to one school, but can flourish in communities everywhere, and that clinicians throughout the country have the knowledge and skills to provide the best possible care.
EDUCATOR TRAINING
NCHI works with partners to develop and share educational best practices to optimize outcomes for students with cochlear implants by providing teacher training in our inclusive intervention model.
Educator Workshops
NCHI will host workshops on topics such as Literacy Intervention, Inclusive Practice, Thematic Curriculum and Social Emotional Development.
Teacher-Child Interaction Training (TCIT)
Certified TCIT trainers will train educators from across the nation in this proven and effective technique for classroom management and positive relationship building, which leads to better academic outcomes for children.
Graduate Student Training
The River School has Affiliation Agreements with universities across the country to provide supervised clinical training for students in graduate training programs in Speech-Language Pathology, Education, Deaf Education, Audiology, Occupational Therapy and Developmental Psychology. Graduate students spend extensive time in the classroom learning about inclusive education and how to support students with hearing loss within a general education setting. Clinical fellowships and postdoctoral placements are also available.

Clinician Training
The National Center for Hearing Innovation and its partners have a wealth of experience working in transdisciplinary teams to support children with hearing loss. Our experts in audiology, psychology, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and auditory-verbal therapy will host and train clinicians from around the country in best practices.

Audiology
NCHI works with audiologists who have extensive experience working with children who use cochlear implants and hearing aids. Training in Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing, cochlear implant candidacy evaluations, cochlear implant programming and mapping and other services specific to cochlear implant technologies help clinicians to better serve their patients.
Speech-Language Pathology
Speech and language pathologists work with children to overcome communication challenges that affect their ability to engage at school, home, and in the community. At NCHI, we train speech-language pathologists to work effectively with children who have hearing loss by sharing best practices that our experts have developed over the past 25 years.
